Questions
Straight answers,
including the awkward ones.
If something here is vague, that's a mistake. Email us and we'll fix the wording.
Is it really $750?
Yes. Your complete website is a one-time $750 build fee. That covers the design, buyer-focused copy, three to five essential pages, mobile optimization, contact form setup, domain connection, basic search setup, two rounds of revisions, and help getting the finished site live.
It does not change based on your trade, your revenue, or how many emails we end up exchanging. It is split into two payments: 50% before the build starts and 50% when the site goes live.
There is no monthly payment to Site in Three. Your domain, hosting, or website platform charges its own separate renewal, billed to you by that provider, in your name.
Do you only work with contractors?
Contractors and trade businesses are what we build for. General contractors, remodelers, home builders, roofers, siding and concrete crews, plumbers, electricians, HVAC companies, painters, flooring installers, and deck and fence builders. The page structure, the questions we ask, and the words we write are all shaped around that work.
That is a focus, not a rule. If you run another kind of local service business, ask anyway. The offer, the three days, and the price are the same, and we will tell you honestly if we do not think we are the right fit.
What is the difference between the free homepage concept and the website I pay for?
The homepage concept is one page, designed for your actual business, that shows the creative direction we would take. It lets you see how your company could be presented and decide whether we are the right fit. It is free, and it is not a working website.
The finished website is what the $750 buys. We expand the approved direction into a polished site of three to five pages, write the copy, build every page for phones as well as desktops, set up the contact form, connect your domain, put the basic search setup in place, make two rounds of revisions, and launch it with you.
Put simply: the concept shows you the direction. The build turns that direction into a website your customers can actually use.
What does buyer-focused copy mean, and do I have to write it?
You do not have to write any of it. Buyer-focused copy means we write and organize the words on your website so a homeowner landing on it can quickly see what you build, install, or repair, whether you work where they live, why they should call you, what you can be hired for, and how to reach you.
We work from what you tell us. Rough notes, an old flyer, your Facebook page, or a fifteen-minute call is enough. We decide what order it should be read in and write it in plain language.
What this is not: we do not name your business, write a brand story, or run an SEO campaign, and nobody can promise where you will rank.
Can you put my license number and insurance on the site?
Yes, and we will put them where people actually look rather than leaving them in the footer. Your license number, your insurance status, and any certifications or manufacturer credentials go near the top of the page and in the contact area.
Those are among the first things a homeowner checks before calling a contractor they do not know. We state exactly what you give us, and we do not embellish it.
Can you show the towns I actually work in?
Yes. A service-area page or a plainly listed set of towns and counties is one of the five pages we most often build for a contractor, because the second question after price is whether you will drive out that far.
We can list towns, counties, a radius, or all three, and we will say plainly where you will and will not travel.
Are there any monthly fees?
None to us. The $750 is a one-time build fee, and Site in Three does not put you on a retainer, a maintenance plan, or a subscription.
Your website does still need an address and somewhere to live, and those are separate. A domain is billed by the registrar, usually once a year. Hosting or a website platform is billed by that provider on its own schedule. Both stay in your name, and we do not mark them up or take a cut.
We will show you the options and what they cost before you commit to anything.
I'm on jobsites all day. How much of my time does this take?
About fifteen minutes up front, and one review on day three. That is the whole ask.
Day one is a short form or a short call, whenever suits you. You can text us job photos from the truck rather than sorting through a folder. Day two is entirely on us and you do not need to be reachable. Day three you look at the site and tell us what to change.
You do not need to write copy, plan the pages, or understand domains and hosting.
How can you build a complete website in three working days?
By removing the parts that take weeks. There is no discovery phase, no competitive audit, no slide presentation, no committee, and no waiting three days between emails for a two-line answer.
We also build one kind of thing, a clear three to five page site for an established contractor, so we are not inventing a process from scratch each time. The design and the writing are real work. The apparatus around them is gone.
The three working days start once we have your information and the first payment, and they assume you come back to us on day three with your changes.
Will my website look like a template?
No. We start from your business, your name, your trades, your job photos, the customers you want, and choose the type, color, and layout for it. The finished site carries the same direction as the homepage concept you approved.
The concepts on our work page are the fairest answer to this question. Six contractors, six sites that do not look like each other.
Do I own my website?
Completely, once the final payment is made. The domain is in your name, the hosting account is in your name, and the finished site is yours.
There is no license and no lock-in. Your site does not depend on paying us anything ongoing. It only depends on your domain and hosting staying active, both of which are in your own accounts.
What do you need from me?
Your business details and hours, the trades and services you offer, the towns you cover, your license number and insurance, your logo and any job photos you have, and two or three websites you like or cannot stand.
That is a short form or a fifteen-minute call. Nothing has to be polished and nothing has to be written. You do not need to draft copy, plan the page structure, or understand domains and hosting.
After that, day two is entirely on us. You do not need to be available while we build.
How many pages do I get?
Three to five. For most contractors the core is home, services, about, and contact, plus one more where it earns its place: a project gallery or a service-area page.
The exact set is chosen for what your business actually needs, so not every site gets every one of those. If you genuinely need more than five, say so before we start and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.
What does the free homepage concept actually get me?
A homepage designed for your actual business, with your name, your trades, and your job photos where we have them. Not a generic sample with your logo dropped into it. It normally takes two to three business days.
You see it on desktop and on a phone, and you get a straight answer about whether we think we are the right fit, including when we are not.
It is one page showing the proposed direction. It is not written out in full, connected to your domain, or live. If you want the complete website, that is $750 once and three working days. If you do not, that is genuinely the end of it: no follow-up sequence, no calls.
Does asking for a concept commit me to anything?
No. Sending the form does not buy a website and does not commit you to the $750. There are no payment details, no calendar link, and no sales call.
You look at the concept and decide. If it is not for you, tell us or say nothing, and nothing else arrives.
How many revisions are included?
Two rounds, on day three. A round means you send your notes in one batch and we work through all of them.
In practice most changes are wording, photo swaps, and ordering, which is exactly what the revision rounds are for. Revisions are two rounds, not unlimited.
Do I need to already have a domain?
No. If you have one, we connect it. If you do not, we will walk you through registering one. It goes in your name, on your account, billed by the registrar.
We never register or hold a domain on your behalf. Too many small businesses lose control of their own address that way.
What if I already have a website?
Then we are replacing it. We keep whatever is worth keeping, including your copy, photos, reviews, page structure, and anything that already ranks, and redesign around it.
Your current site stays up and working until the new one is ready to switch over. There is no window where you have no website.
What if I only have a Facebook page?
That is completely normal for a trade business and it is usually enough to start. Your page already has your name, hours, job photos, reviews, and a sense of how you talk about your own work.
We will ask you for the rest. Not having a website yet makes this easier, not harder.
Can you use my existing logo and job photos?
Yes, and we would rather. Real photos of your crew, your trucks, and your finished work beat anything generic, every time. Before-and-after pairs are the single most useful thing you can send.
Send whatever you have, including phone photos. We will tell you which ones are strong enough to build around. If you have very little, we will design for that instead of pretending otherwise.
Can you redesign my current site?
Yes. Most of this work is replacing a site that was built years ago, or a builder site that never quite got finished. Same one-time $750 build fee, same three working days.
What does basic search setup include?
Page titles and descriptions, clean headings, a sitemap, and your business details in a form Google can read. It is the groundwork that lets search engines understand the site properly.
It is not an SEO campaign, a keyword strategy, or ongoing optimization, and nobody can honestly guarantee rankings or traffic. Contracting is a competitive search category, and the lead-generation directories spend heavily on it. We will not pretend a three-day build outranks them. If you want a proper search programme after launch, we will say so rather than pretending the setup is one.
What will you never ask me for?
Your domain registrar password, your hosting password, your email password, or card details to produce the free homepage concept. There is no legitimate reason for a web designer to hold any of those.
We connect your domain using DNS records you add yourself, or access you grant and can revoke. If anyone claiming to be us asks for a password, it is not us.
What happens after the site launches?
You own a finished, working website and the engagement ends. We do not sell a maintenance retainer and we do not put you on a monthly plan.
If we built something wrong, we fix it at no charge. Tell us within 30 days of launch. After that, or for changes to something that is working as intended, email us and we will quote it honestly, or show you how to make small edits yourself.
Do you build online stores, booking, or estimating systems?
No. Online stores with a real catalog, booking and scheduling systems, customer portals, estimating software, and integrations with your job management tools are outside what we do.
We would rather tell you that early than take the project and do it badly. If you already use a scheduling or quoting tool, we can usually link cleanly to it from the site.
Do you work with contractors outside my area?
Yes. We work with contractors and trade businesses anywhere in the United States. Everything happens over email, with a short call if you want one.
How does payment work?
The $750 is a one-time build fee, split into two payments: 50% before the build starts and 50% when the site goes live. We send an invoice, and you do not need to set anything up in advance.
There is no third payment and no monthly payment to us. The free homepage concept comes first and never asks for payment details.
Still not answered?
Email hello@siteinthree.com with your question and your business name. You'll get a real answer from the person who'd build your site, usually the same day.
The fastest way to judge us
is to make us prove it.
Ask for a homepage concept. It's free, and you'll know within a few days whether we're any good.
