Selected work

Six contractors. Six sites
that don't look alike.

Every one of these is a homepage concept: the same thing we design for free, for your contracting business, before anyone hires us. A finished website carries this direction across three to five pages.

Being straight with you: Site in Three is a new company, so these are original concepts we designed ourselves. They are not client projects, and the businesses in them are fictional. We'd rather show you honest concept work than invent logos, testimonials, and results we haven't earned. The design quality is real, and it is what you'd get.

Concept Remodeler · Portland, OR

Brightwell Kitchen & Bath

The idea

Remodelers are hired off finished rooms, so the photograph is the page. Navigation and headline sit on the image, and the first thing under it is what a project actually starts at.

What it fixes

Starting prices sit above the fold instead of behind a consultation form, which is the question most homeowners open a remodeler’s site to answer. The finished work fills the screen rather than sitting in a gallery page nobody reaches.

Concept Plumber · Minneapolis, MN

Halvorsen Plumbing & Heating

The idea

Someone reaching a plumber’s site is often standing in water. The phone number is the first element on the page, before the logo, and the layout puts the work photograph on the left where the eye lands first.

What it fixes

An always-visible emergency bar replaces a phone number buried in a header. Services are a scannable grid rather than a paragraph, so you can confirm they do your problem in about two seconds.

Concept Home builder · Bozeman, MT

Calder & Rowe Custom Homes

The idea

A custom builder at this level sells patience and restraint. The page opens with type and space rather than a photograph, and the house arrives as a wide band once the tone has already been set.

What it fixes

One action, centered and unmissable, instead of a row of competing buttons. How many builds a year they take is stated in plain words on the first screen, which politely filters out the caller who needs a door rehung this week.

Concept Roofer · Wichita, KS

Ironwood Roofing & Exteriors

The idea

Roofing is bought on finished work and on trust, so the photograph runs full width before a word of sales copy, and the license number sits in the information strip rather than in the footer.

What it fixes

The two things a homeowner checks first, how fast someone can look at it and whether you handle the insurance paperwork, are stated in plain text instead of waiting behind a contact form.

Concept Electrician · Cleveland, OH

Meridian Electric

The idea

Trust is the entire product for an electrical contractor, so the one real promise gets its own bordered panel rather than being a line in a paragraph. Industrial type, plain language, nothing decorative.

What it fixes

The differentiator, a written quote before any work starts, is stated twice on the first screen because that is the objection. Hours, license number, and phone live in a fixed dark strip.

Concept Painter · Austin, TX

Fern & Ladder Painting

The idea

Warm without being twee. The navigation, the photo card, and the price chips are all rounded, and the headline talks about how the job feels to live through rather than listing surfaces.

What it fixes

Prices are on the homepage as chips instead of hidden behind an estimate form, which is the first thing a homeowner searches for. The tone reassures rather than reciting coatings and warranty terms.

Mobile

The phone version isn't
an afterthought.

Most of your customers will find you on a phone, often standing in the room or under the roof they want dealt with. We design that version on purpose, with bigger type, one clear action, and the phone number always within reach.
